A one-time member of the American Shakespeare Festival at Stratford , she performed as Isabella in "Measure for Measure" and Katharine in "The Taming of the Shrew."   She wasted no time securing early TV drama work and numerous summer stock roles also added to her enjoyment. She also garnered an Oscar-nomination for her role of the lonely but altruistic executive secretary in the all-star ensemble drama "Executive Suite."

She later became a widely respected acting teacher in the Los Angeles area (notably USC) and has directed on stage, and also has been a senior faculty member at the American Film Institute.  She has recently been see in such shows as "Bull" and "Navy NCIS,"  proving her still a lovely and vibrant talent.   She also served as an acting coach from time to time in such films as "Encino Man.

Van Johnson
1916-2008

The All-American boy-type played both the stalwart soldier and song and dance heartthrob during WWII era. Van took advantage of the absence of some of the top-drawer studio actors who had gone off to fight in the war effort, due to his 4-F status as a result of a near-fatal car accident in 1943. After the big stars returned, he remained a high profile musical star opposite the likes of June Allyson, Esther Williams and Judy Garland. However he still had the goods to deliver on landmark films such "Command Decision," "State of the Union," "Battleground," "Brigadoon," and "The Caine Mutiny".

In the late 50s and early 1960s, he turned again to his musical talents as a nightclub performer and musical stage star. He starred as Harold Hill in several productions of "The Music Man" and took command of the regional and dinner theater circuits, in productions of "Damn Yankees," "Guys and Dolls," "Bells Are Ringing," "On a Clear Day...," "Forty Carats," "Bye Bye Birdie," "There's a Girl in My Soup" and "I Do! I Do!"

In the 70's he went more into TV shows, garnering an Emmy Nomination for "Rich Man, Poor Man." His final musical role was as Cap' Andy in "Show Boat" in 1991.
