Special Performance

"The Case of Humanity vs. Pontius Pilate"

by Dorothy and George Fox, Nancy S. and Reginald Hubley, and Joan and Jack Tressler*

wATCH as Pontius Pilate, who feels misrepresented by history, asks for a trial regarding his role in the crucifixion of Jesus.  Set in a modern courtroom, the events are re-examined as if they happened only yesterday.  Faith, greed, and hope conflict in those most involved in history's greatest story.
Listen as the attorneys present their witnesses and the facts--the truths and the half-truths--which complicate the plot and increase the tension.  Witnesses include Caiaphas, Mary Magdalene, Pilate's wife, some of the disciples and others.
Take Part as members of the audience cast the final vote.   The experience of the play, the verdict, and the resulting discussion of the events leading up to the crucifixion make this a new yet profound examination of the meaning of the Passion.
The play runs about  an hour and twenty minutes   It is suitable for all ages, but will be best enjoyed by adults and teens.  The core of actors performing the piece brings humor, compassion and a realistic touch to the wide range of characters.

Produced by special arrangement with THE DRAMATIC PUBLISHING COMPANY of Woodstock, Illinois.
